NAPAC USA Appoints Dr. Okey Enyia as National Political Director

Washington, D.C. — The Nigerian American Public Affairs Committee (NAPAC USA) is proud to announce the appointment of Dr. Okey K. Enyia, DrPH, MPH, as its National Political Director, effective July 1, 2025. This strategic appointment signals NAPAC’s unwavering commitment to strengthening political influence, advancing policy advocacy, and amplifying the voice of Nigerian Americans at all levels of government.

Dr. Enyia brings over 15 years of distinguished experience in health policy, legislative strategy, and equity-centered advocacy. He has served three Members of the U.S. Congress, led impactful policy initiatives through his firm, Enyia Strategies, and authored groundbreaking research published in Health Affairs and Public Health Reports. His leadership will be instrumental in shaping NAPAC’s evolving political agenda.

As Political Director, Dr. Enyia will spearhead:

  • A National Political Strategy to amplify NAPAC’s advocacy and bolster the impact of its 527 State PACs.
  • Mobilization of Nigerian American Elected Officials (20+ nationwide) to drive shared policy priorities.
  • Development of a Comprehensive Diaspora Database for outreach, voter engagement, and electoral participation.
  • Expansion of Faith-Based Partnerships to foster nonpartisan civic education and empowerment.
  • Revitalization of the Congressional Nigerian Caucus through collaborative partner engagement.

In this leadership role, Dr. Enyia will also chair the NAPAC Political Committee, working closely with Ms. Sometoo Ejiofor, Mr. Emmanuel Amanfor, and Mr. Jude Ezeh. Together, they will advance a unified, mission-driven national political strategy, systems for diaspora data collection and interfaith civic engagement, and federal and state legislative advocacy informed by lived experience and policy insight.

Dr. Enyia’s appointment comes at a pivotal moment, as NAPAC expands its influence in key arenas:

  • 2025 AGOA Renewal Advocacy
  • Immigration Policy Reform, including the NAPAC Immigration Assistance Fund launched May 24
  • Electoral Mobilization ahead of the 2026 U.S. Midterm Elections

“Dr. Enyia’s vision, integrity, and track record of results will elevate NAPAC USA into a national powerhouse for Nigerian American diaspora engagement. We are thrilled to welcome him into this role and look forward to the transformative work ahead.”
